It’s been a while.
I consider myself very lucky that Covid hasn’t had too much of an impact on me: I haven’t caught it (or if I have, I didn’t notice), and it hasn’t affected my work because I was working from home anyway. Apropos of that, my twelve-month career break from my job with the homelessness charity actually went very well, so I continued it. I’ve left. I’m now fully self-employed. Might seem a strange time to take such a jump, given we’re in the middle of a pandemic and all, but the alternative was going back to work in the middle of a pandemic. Plus, if I can make a living making up stories (and it seems that I can), why would I not?
Anyway, as part of that “making a living” thing, I am extremely pleased to announce that my Warhammer 40,000 novel BRUTAL KUNNIN, Black Library’s first Ork-POV (point-of-view) novel, is now available in hardback, ebook and audiobook. It was an absolute blast to write, and so far has garnered lovely comments from people I don’t know about how it might be their favourite 40K book ever! Can’t say fairer than that.
– the release of my epic fantasy debut THE BLACK COAST has been pushed back by the pandemic and will now be occurring in February 2021, more news on that as we get it.
– also stay tuned for the cover reveal.
– I have more Black Library works upcoming! There should be another one coming out near the beginning of next year, and it’s a doozy: I can’t say anything more than that at the moment, but I’m very much looking forward to the moment when I can.
– my literary agent (and also highly-regarded author in his own right) Rob Dinsdale has left the field of agenting, and I am now represented by Alexander Cochran at C&W Agency. I’m looking forward to working with Alex, who already has other luminaries such as Tade Thompson, Gareth Powell, and Luke Arnold on his client list.
Best wishes to everyone reading, and stay safe.
