I’ve had a short story published!
This might feel like it’s an unremarkable thing for an author, but I’ve historically struggled to place my original short fiction (commissioned short fiction, such as the stuff I write for Games Workshop, is a slightly different beast). So I’m very glad to announce that my short story Remembrance has been selected for the British Science Fiction Association’s magazine FISSION #6, which is out now!

I’m very grateful to Gene and Rick for selecting my story (and look at that cover! Isn’t it great?), and I’m looking forward to receiving my copy and reading everyone else’s too 🙂
In the meantime, I had a great time at Super Relaxed Fantasy Club earlier this month, where I was expertly interviewed about This Is Where The Future Bleeds by Magnus, and had the chance to heckle RJ Barker while he was being interviewed about Mortedant’s Peril. I also signed some copies of TiWtFB which are on shelves at Tottenham Court Road Forbidden Planet, ahead of the official release on 7th July.
I then stopped by RJ’s gaff at Writeopolis, and although he couldn’t be present, I had an excellent chat with Stew Hotston and Kit Power about all things writing and creative, including my greatest sandwich of all time.
Next up, I’m at Dudley Writers Festival this coming Saturday, appearing at Brierley Hill Library at 1pm. Then I’m at Nottingham Waterstones on Tuesday 30th June at 6.30pm, being interviewed by John French about This Is Where The Future Bleeds, and at Portal Books in York on Thursday 2nd July at 7pm, talking with Andrew Knighton.
Hope to see you at one of them!
