RITES OF PASSAGE announced!

I’ve been waiting to update because I have some exciting news, but unfortunately it’s not exciting news that I’m allowed to talk about yet.

So instead, I’m going to talk about some other exciting news which I now can talk about!

My first novel for Games Workshop’s Black Library, RITES OF PASSAGE, was announced to day at their Black Library Live event. You can get an overview of everything that was announced here, but the bit I’m most excited about is the cover reveal for RITES OF PASSAGE:

Rather swanky, I think you’ll agree

The novel is about Navigators (three-eyed mutants in the Warhammer 40,000 universe who are the only way humanity can navigate through the Warp, which is essentially a hell dimension which allows ships to effectively go faster than light: if you’ve seen Event Horizon, they basically nicked the idea from 40K). They have a lot of political and economic power, and are incredibly rich, but there’s always the risk of them being turned on because they’re mutants, even if they’re useful (nay, essential) mutants. Also, they’re very much not combatants, by and large, so this isn’t a war zone novel, but one of the backstabbing and assassinations in the corridors of power.

I’m really excited about it, and hope you will be too. If you’ve read my short story A Common Ground in INFERNO! Vol 1 then you’ll recognise the main character: Lady Chettamandey Brobantis, or Chetta for short, who’s to the immediate right of the seated figure on the cover, as we look at it.

I’m not yet sure of an exact release date, but I think it’s going to be sometime around September-October.
